Chiang Mai Thailand Festival.


Loi Krathong ( known locally as Yi Peng ) , which is held during the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. (in November) Most people show the cult to the goddess of water from Krathong float decorated with flowers and candles in the rivers. In addition, they also allow Khom Fai ( sky lanterns ) into the air as they believe that this could help to get rid of their problems and decorate this Khom Fai their home and roads accordingly.


Songkran ( the water festival ) held in mid-April to celebrate the traditional Thai New Year . The majority of visitors come to see this festival as there are a number of religious activities and entertainment that take place every year. In addition , many large parades and a Miss Songkran beauty contest are included in this festival. Given that this is the hottest time of year , most people pour , spray or throw water at each other .

In the old days , Songkran is a time to forgive all hostilities and hatreds of the past year and the water symbolizes the washing away of those differences. Most of the people had water sprayed on each other, which was refreshing .

Flower Festival is pressed during the first weekend of February each year. ( A three-day festival ) The parades tropical , traditional dance performances and a beauty contest are included in the festival.
